First, there’s Claire.

Claire is my housekeeper. An extremely good one. She keeps the place spotless, knows where everything is and has perfected the art of looking at one of my latest ideas without actually saying anything.

Then there’s me. Si.

I own the place and spend an unreasonable amount of time wondering what dogs might want from a holiday.

Turns out, quite a lot.

Which is how we ended up with bowls, treats, poo bags, tiled floors, a warm outdoor dog shower and somewhere handy for last-thing-at-night poopies.

I’ve never really understood places that call themselves dog-friendly, then give you a list of rules long enough to make you regret bringing one.

Here, dogs are part of the plan.

The beach is across the road and they can use it all year year round, No clipboards. No fines. The New Forest is just a couple of miles north. Things to sniff absolutely everywhere. And roll in!

Small humans are welcome too.

They’re generally stickier than the dogs, but the warm outdoor shower works equally well on them.

Social Services are apparently fine with it.
